iPhone magnifying glass app

The settings of iOS devices is a maze. There are always corners that hold magnificent functions, such as the one we are going to discuss today. We have searched in the "Accessibility" section and we have come across this great tool.

If we access it, we see that an option called lupa appears. Basically it allows us to turn our device's camera into a powerful tool to enlarge anything.

How iPhone magnifying glass works:

To access it we must look for the native app «Lupa» that we can find quickly, from the Apps library If you can't find it, it may be that you don't have it installed. Then you must look for it in the App Store to download it to your device. At the end of the article we leave you the download link.

The general interface is as follows:

Interface Magnifier iOS 16

We have different options that we explain below (from top to bottom and from left to right) :

  • Lupa: Scroll with which we can zoom in or out on what we want to enlarge.
  • Camera change: By clicking on that button we will choose to zoom with the rear or front camera
  • Brightness: We will increase or decrease the brightness of the magnifying glass screen
  • Filters: There are different filters to be able to, in a different way, the object that we want to observe.
  • Flashlight: Activates the flashlight light to focus on the object.
  • Detection mode: This button, characterized by 4 corners of a square, detects people, doors, objects. Ideal for people with visual disabilities.
  • Settings: Allows access to the magnifying glass settings where we can, among other things, customize the controls.
  • Capture: The circular button that allows you to take a capture and then zoom in even more on the captured object.
  • Multiple photo: The option characterized with a box on another box, allows us to capture the object that we have zoomed in with the magnifying glass. The photos are not saved in the photo library.

Any area that we focus on we can increase it live, using the scroll or making the gesture of increasing and zooming out with our fingers on the screen. But the ideal is to use the capture button to fix the image and thus avoid moving the image. That way we can see better and more clearly what we want to see enlarged.

Also in the filters option, we can increase the brightness, contrast, apply color filters to highlight aspects of the image, etc .

In short, a powerful tool that we all have available on our device iOS.
