We already know how the edit function will work
From WhatsApp for some time they have been presenting many new features. The vast majority of them to add new functions to the application but also to improve the application itself.
The vast majority of them can be found thanks to the different betas of the application. And what we are talking about today, we already told you about at the time thanks to one of the betas that exposed the function.
WhatsApp will show if a message has been Edited
This feature, specifically, is about the ability to Edit WhatsApp messages. It was revealed, as we say, in one of the beta phases of the app And we could see how, holding down a message, WhatsApp gave us the option toEdit the message by changing the content of the message.
But, although we could know that this was what they were planning from WhatsApp, we could only assume other measures that they would add so that it would be known that the message had been Edited. And, as we supposed, WhatsApp will make it very clear that the message has been Edited.
This is how the message edit will be displayed
As you can see in the image, we see how the word “Edited” appears next to the time of the message, which means Edited in English. A subtle but quite effective way to know that a message has been Edited.
The truth is that, taking into account what happens with the Deleted messages, we are not surprised that WhatsApp has finally opted for this option. In this way, as recipients of the message, we will be able to know if the message has been edited, but not the content of the original message. And the same will happen if we send the message.
What do you think about being notified that a message has been Edited on WhatsApp? Would you prefer that the message "Edited" not appear?
