New isolation mode in iOS 16
Surely you've heard of Pegasus and other types of software that allow you to get into anyone's mobile to get all kinds of information. Apple knows that this exists and that is why it has launched “Isolation Mode” in iOS 16.
By activating this new function, we will make our phone, iPad highly impregnable and it will protect us from attacks like Pegasus as well as reduce the flanks of this type of spyware attacks .
How to activate Isolation Mode and how it works:
To activate this new mode, which is natively deactivated and which anyone can activate, we will have to go to the following path: Settings/Privacy and security in the Security section, click on Isolation mode. Tap on Turn on Isolation mode, and after that, tap on Wake up and restart the iPhone to start working.
When activated, what this new mode does is:
- Messages: Most types of message attachments other than images are blocked. Some features, such as link previews, are disabled.
- Web Browsing: Certain complex web technologies, such as just-in-time (JIT) JavaScript compilation, are disabled unless the user excludes a trusted site from blocking mode .
- Apple Services: Incoming service requests and invitations, including FaceTime calls, are blocked if the user has not previously sent a call or request to the launcher.
- Shared Albums: They disappear from this device.
- Wired connections to a computer or accessory are locked when iPhone is locked.
- The configuration profiles cannot be installed and the device cannot enroll in mobile device management (MDM), while lockdown mode is enabled.
Before activating this mode you will see an explanation of the consequences of activating it. It's good that you think about it before doing it.
We think that it is a functionality that is indicated for people with high-value information, such as politicians, journalists, high-ranking leaders. But come on, if you want to activate it you can do it as long as you know the details of doing so.
We hope this news has interested you and we'll see you shortly.
Greetings.
