The app is now fully functional
Some time ago we told you about the MiDGT app. This application, official application of the Directorate General of Traffic, allowed us to have our driving license easily and digitally on our mobile devices.
Not only that, but it also allowed us to access more information such as the points, cars in our name and their papers. And, the same, was improving with the possibility of seeing our fines, both paid and pending, or the results obtained in exams as well as traffic procedures.
Since March 2022 it is no longer necessary to have a physical driver's license and the MiDGT app on the iPhone is enough
Although it was becoming more and more complete and fulfilled its function perfectly, the application had a rather important flaw. We could not use it only to present the driver's license. In other words, if they stopped us, we had to continue showing our physical ID no matter how much we had the app.
But that has finally changed. From now on, specifically from March 21, 2022, we will only be able to use this application to show our driving license in Spain if an agent requires it while we are driving.
The digital driver's license with the number of points
This is due to the new traffic regulations that have been published and are now fully in force.Thanks to it, in addition to other relevant changes, the use of a physical driver's license is no longer mandatory and it is enough, only, to have the digital license of the app MiDGT
In order to use it, as we indicated before, it is necessary to have some form of electronic identification such as the DNIe or electronic certificate , as well as the Cl@ve Pin of 24h Access or the Cl@ve Permanent Pin.With them we can identify ourselves in the app and use the digital driver's license in a simple way.
