Everyone will surely know the Google Earth app. It is an app that allows us to travel the world and visit any corner of the planet without having to leave the sofa.
This application, used on a PC or MAC, is a real wonder. In the app for iOS it started out being something simple but over time it has been adding functionalities that really are amazing. We are going to show you one of them today.
How to time travel in Google Earth, thanks to accelerated sequences:
We enter the app and what we have to do is press the button characterized by a rudder, which appears at the top of the screen.
Access the sequence of accelerated images from Google Earth
Now we will see that in the options that appear at the bottom, one of them is called "Accelerated sequence in Google Earth" .
Travel in time
Click on it and the magic begins.
This is how you can time travel in Google Earth
It will begin to play sequential images from different years, specifically photos taken between 1984 and 2020. We will see how an area of the world has evolved during that time.
We can zoom in, rotate, see the area in 3D, which we always recommend seeing as far away as possible. If we zoom in too much we won't see anything. The interesting thing is to see the changes at a global level.
At the bottom we see a menu where we can visit various areas of planet earth. We encourage you to investigate and consult the ones that most attract your attention. We can browse Stories, Featured Places and information.
But not only that. We also have a search engine, which will appear when we access the lower part, in which we can see, in accelerated sequence, any town or area on the planet. Simply put the name of the area, town, city, company and see the evolution over time.
Search for the place you want to time travel to
It's a wonderful tool to travel back in time from your iPhone.
Greetings.
