iPhone LiDAR Sensor
About 8 years ago I gave my opinion on the subject of 3D photography and it seems that I was not too badly directed. The implementation of a LiDAR sensor in our devices was one of the novelties that I did not understand. I thought that a normal user would not be able to get the full potential of it, but once tried, I think that, in the future, we will all use it more than we think.
The mapping app 3D Scanner app , has opened my eyes. This is an application that allows us to generate a 3D image of everything that we focus on with the LiDAR sensor of our devices. It really is AMAZING. I was blown away by mapping the inside of my house and then being able to move, flip, zoom around the 3D image. But not only that. Thanks to augmented reality I can walk inside it as if I were really there.
I thought I saw it all on iOS and as you can see I didn't.
We may see immersive photography on Apple thanks to its AR glasses:
If we link everything I've told you with the possible launch of Apple's AR glasses and the arrival of 5G, the circle closes. Can you imagine being able to create our 3D images and then be able to enter them and enjoy living them? It would be the bomb.
Immersive photography thanks to the LiDAR sensor
We are used to using augmented reality in images or projects created by third parties, but what if we can create them ourselves?I think Apple is going to give us the opportunity to do that in the future. Today we can enjoy this, as we have mentioned before, with third-party apps, but I think Cupertino will launch its own application for it.
Being able to photograph the inside of your house to later interact with it in the future or, for example, send the inside of a hotel room to your cousin who lives in Australia so that she can "enter" and see how is, I think it will be a breakthrough that Apple will put into operation soon.
And that's without mentioning those family photos that we will be able to see in the future and be virtually, for example, next to a deceased person and be able to have them right next to us.
I truly believe firmly in this immersive photography that we are going to be able to enjoy thanks to the LiDAR sensor and future augmented reality glasses from Apple.
And this without mentioning the possibilities that it will give many of us in the workplace.
Very real AR videos and virtual video calls:
But it doesn't end here and, apart from photography, I think the time will come for immersive videos.
Recording a family video and being able, in the future, to access it through AR glasses and being able to relive it again must be awesome. I really believe that the little use we give to the LiDAR sensor today will be left behind in the future.
And the video calls?. Can you imagine making a video call to a family member of yours and being able to have them in front of you while you talk. Putting on the AR glasses and being able to talk to that person, face to face, will be another of the advances that we may see in the future.
To finish, thank Apple for the arrival of the LiDAR sensor and its future AR glasses if what I told you about today, arrives to come true.
Greetings.
