Facebook and data collection
One of the big controversies that sparked the arrival of iOS 14, was the new privacy and anti-tracking regulations that Apple implemented in the operating system. And one of the companies that most firmly opposed it was, without a doubt, Facebook.
Such was the case that they even carried out a campaign against Apple to be able to "continue" squeezing user data. Without much success, it must be said, since we users wanted to continue maintaining and recovering our privacy.
It seems that Facebook is the only one of the analyzed apps that does this
But, apparently, Facebook has managed to get away with it because according to an analyst report, Facebook continues to collect data from users iPhone and iPad And the problem with this is that it does it without your consent or knowledge, even with Apple anti-tracking measuresactivated.
As it seems, the way to do it is not through tracking since the measures activated in our iPhone and iPad they seem to work. It does so by having access to the accelerometer of our device, accessing the metadata of our images and through the IP access to the application. And, it seems, of the analyzed apps Facebook is the only one that does this.
Tim Cook's response to Facebook complaints
As a solution, the only one these analysts provide if we want to keep our privacy safe is to completely remove our Facebook account and the application from our iOS devices. This would be the only way for Facebook to stop accessing our data without our consent.
What do you think? Of course, for some reason, and considering that Facebook's business is in user data, it doesn't seem too surprising that they managed to continue collecting our data without our consent.
