Warning when carrying an Airtag without your permission
One of the most controversial issues that have raised the Airtag is related to privacy. The device is so small that anyone could drop it in our bag, backpack, or car to track all your movements. This is a reality to which Apple has wanted to put barriers with some notices that alert the person who is carrying it without consent.
Apple has implemented some features in Airtags to prevent them from being used to spy on people. We, as always, have put them to the test to see what happens and what options the small Apple product gives us to avoid this tracking.
If someone wants to spy on you with an Airtag, this is what happens:
After some time without contacting the Airtag with the person who synchronized it on their iPhone, a notification like this will appear:
Airtag Alert
As you can see, it informs us that we are carrying an Airtag with us that is not ours and gives us the possibility to deactivate it and stop sharing its location. When clicking on “Continue” this menu will appear:
Map with route taken with the Airtag above it
It draws us a map in which it marks the routes that we have done with the device above and below, some options with which we can manage what we want to do with it.
Options to act on the Airtag
We can play a sound to find out where it is and be able to catch it. It also offers us the possibility of pausing the security warnings so that, in the event that we know that we are carrying an Airtag with our permission, we can prevent it from constantly notifying us that we have that device with us. But if not, below we can choose between two options that will reveal the owner of the Airtag and the instructions to deactivate it.
In the "Search" app we can see the Airtags or objects that we carry with us without our permission:
iOS Search App
Entering the "Search" app, within the "Objects" menu, it will show us an option called "Objects detected with me" that will reveal all the devices that we carry with us and that are not owned by us. They can be Airtag or other devices that can be "trackable" and compatible with this Apple feature
Location of the small Apple device
By clicking on this option, we will access a menu in which a map will appear in which we will see where that device is located. In addition, some options will appear with which we can manage what to do with it.
Menu with options for the detected Airtag
Without a doubt we cannot complain about all the means that Apple puts at our disposal, to avoid non-consensual tracking, above all, using its Airtag.
Greetings.
