How to know if someone has access to your device
Surely you've ever wondered if someone could have some kind of access to your iOS devices. This is something that, personally, I have asked myself many times and that today we are going to teach you how to find out.
We can investigate and execute several steps to find out and, thus, be completely calm that we don't have any outsiders obtaining personal data that we don't want them to access.
Checklist to find out if someone has access to your iPhone, iPad or accounts:
Here we show you the 5 points that Apple recommends us to review to carry out the verification that we refer to in this tutorial.
1- Check which devices are connected with your Apple ID:
For that we have to go to Settings/ . We can see the devices at the bottom of the screen, just above the "Log out" option, and those that are yours should appear. For example your iPhone, your iPad, your Apple Watch. If you see a device you don't recognize, tap the device name and select "Remove" from the account.
2- Check if there is an unexpected alternate skin or additional fingerprint set on your device:
Go to Settings "Face ID & Passcode" , having Face ID, or "Touch ID & Passcode" , having Touch ID , and check if you have an alternate face or fingerprint set to unlock and perform other actions on your iPhone.
3- Sign in to appleid.apple.com with your Apple ID and review all of your account's personal and security information:
This will allow us to see if there is any information that someone else has added. Make sure all your information is up to date. If you have two-factor authentication turned on, review trusted devices and remove any devices you don't recognize. If your account does not use two-factor authentication, turn it on.
4- Check the applications installed on your device:
Search for apps you don't recognize or remember installing. If there are, uninstall it. You can search for any app you find on your device in the App Store and find out what its purpose is.
5- Check if you have any profile installed to know if someone has access to your device:
Mobile device management profiles are often installed by employers, schools, or other official organizations. These allow additional privileges and access to a device. If you find an unknown profile on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, uninstall it always check with your school or company beforehand if the phone has been provided by them or you use it for a related matter with them. You can do this check in Settings/General/Profiles .
If you don't see this option in Settings , your device doesn't have any profiles installed.
