Get information about a car with the miDGT app
The application miDGT has added new functions that will come in handy for all people who are thinking of buying a second-hand car.
In all the prominent means of buying and selling vehicles that we have consulted, they recommend, apart from checking the body, kilometers, chassis, engine, tires, that the documentation is in order. This is the information that the app will provide us and that will allow us to know if a car has a trap or not.
Information on a second-hand car with the DGT app:
By accessing the app and clicking on the three horizontal stripes that appear in the upper left part of the screen, we will access the application menu and we will see an option called "My procedures" that will allow us to obtain information of any car.
MyDGT Menu
When clicking on "My procedures" another menu will appear in which we will see several options among which we will find "Vehicle report". When clicking on it, the following will appear.
Vehicle Report
As you can see, we can obtain a basic report (free) or a complete report (€8.50) of the vehicle we want:
Basic vehicle report:
This type of report gives us information on the date of the vehicle's first registration in Spain and if there is any incident that would prevent the transfer of the vehicle or its circulation.
Entering the license plate of the car we will see a report in which we will see if it has incidents or not:
Basic car information
Full information of a car:
Introducing the license plate, chassis number or NIVE, the report includes all the administrative information, identification of the owner, municipality where the vehicle is domiciled, ITV history, mileage, number of owners, loads as well as data technicians, EuroNCAP score and maintenance regarding the requested vehicle.
This report costs €8.50 and provides us with all this information:
- Owner data
- Vehicle ID
- Data on Compulsory Insurance
- Vehicle Technical Inspection
- Loss History
- Odometer Reading History
- Indicator vehicles with refusal
- Charges or encumbrances
- Technical information
- Headline History
- Environmental Information
- Vehicle Safety
To find out what this type of report is like, we can see an emulation on the DGT page. Click below to see an example of a complete vehicle report.
Verify official DGT documents:
In addition to being able to obtain information about vehicles, miDGT also allows us to verify official documents. This is something that will help us detect false documents that, unfortunately, are abundant in second-hand car sales.
Accessing the app menu, we must click on the "Verifications" option. Upon entering we will find this:
Verify DGT documents
By clicking on any of the documents that we want to verify and focusing on the document's barcode or QR code, we will know if the document is official or false.
This is MUST-HAVE and should be checked before making any transaction.
Thanks to the DGT app, we can now obtain more information about a second-hand car that we want to buy.
Greetings.
