iPhone 6S
It seems that the arrival of the future iOS 15 is going to sentence the iPhone 6S and iPhone SE from 1ª Generation. Rumors are starting to pour in about the future iOS of next year and it seems that it will affect the devices discussed.
It is clear that operating systems are becoming heavier, require more resources and need powerful processors to “move” them with ease. The older iPhone do not usually comply with this and although Apple tries to stretch them to the maximum, it is clear that the day has to come when the Older devices stop updating.
And this doesn't mean they stop working. They can work for a few more years, if you take good care of yourself, although you won't be able to enjoy the new features of the new iOS.
iOS 15 will be compatible with the following iPhones:

The record is currently held by the iPhone 5S which started working with iOS 7 in 2012 and ended in summer 2019 with iOS 12.4 .
If the rumors are confirmed, the iPhone 6S and SE (1st Gen.) will match the record and will convert to devices that have been updated for 6 consecutive years.
If this is true iOS 15 would be compatible with the following iPhones:
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 PLUS
