Privacy for your WhatsApp messages

Something we highlight for good is the ability to see notifications on the lock screen. In this way we know, from a first glance, if we are really interested in unlocking our device or not. This obviously happens with Whatsapp as well, which gives us the possibility to see received messages on the lock screen and read what they have sent us.

But this option in Whatsapp can be inconvenient. And we say this if we take into account that anyone can read what they send us. When we leave the iPhone somewhere with friends or family and we receive a message, the screen turns on letting us see that message that they have sent us.

So we bring you a solution, to avoid reading the messages of Whatsapp without our consent

How to prevent them from seeing your WhatsApp messages on the lock screen:

The first thing we have to do is enter the iPhone settings . Even if it is WhatsApp, we will have to configure this option from the device settings.

Once we are in the settings, we look in the applications, for the app we are talking about (almost at the bottom) . When we find it, click on it and we will access its configuration on our iPhone .

We chose the WhatsApp app

Here we can treat any aspect of the configuration, which is related to the device (Notifications, Location, Data). Since what interests us is that the messages appear on the lock screen, we click on "Notifications".

Whatsapp notification settings

Here we have all the notification options. We can configure from seeing the messages in the notification center, to seeing or not WhatsApp on the lock screen. It is this last option that interests us, which is checked by default.

Since what we want is to prevent these messages from being seen, we must uncheck this option to deactivate it.

DISABLE “Lock screen” option

Now, when we receive a Whatsapp message, it will ring as usual but it will no longer appear on the lock screen.

A good way to avoid seeing our messages and to save battery life, since we get the iPhone screen to not light up every time we receive a message.

And as we always tell you, if you found this information useful, don't forget to share it on your favorite social networks.
