Why restart iPhone
This is possibly one of our most interesting and important iOS tutorials.
It is very likely that we will notice, at some point, that our iOS device does not work correctly. It can start doing weird things like lags, crashing apps, etc. We worry and don't know what to do. The first thing that comes to mind is taking it to the technical service.
When we take our device to a technical service, we see how our iPhone works perfectly in a matter of minutes and even seconds. And it is not because the technician works magic, but because the first thing he does is restart the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Doing this simple action problem solved.
And it is highly recommended, always, to restart a device iOS when one of these 3 situations occurs:
- After an update.
- In case it doesn't work properly.
- Every X time.
Restart iPhone and iPad after an update:
In this case, we must restart always our device after having updated it.
This must be done because after installing a new version, you have to reboot for this version to install correctly. We have a clear example with our computers, after installing some important program, it asks us to restart to complete the installation. Well, exactly the same thing happens with our device.
To do this, we will do a Hard Reset (VERY IMPORTANT TO READ THE PROCESS BEFORE DOING IT) :
- On iPhone 6S and below, we must press the on/off button and at the same time, without releasing, we must press the Home button. If you have an iPhone 7 or higher, Hard reset is done by pressing the volume down button and the on/off button at the same time.
- After keeping both buttons pressed for 5-10 seconds, our device will automatically turn off. We will have to keep pressing the 2 buttons until the apple logo appears.
- After the Apple logo appears, we can let go and our device will have been reset.
For the iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 and above, the reset is done as follows:
- Press and quickly release the volume up button.
- Press and quickly release the volume down button.
- Press and hold the power button on the side of the terminal until we see the Apple logo with its apple on the screen.
Also, before doing the restart, we recommend closing all the apps that we have open in the background.
Restart iPhone and iPad in case of malfunction:
If we notice that our device does "strange things", such as not opening apps or closing apps for no reason, let it get stuck in that case, before taking it to any Apple technical service, in which They are going to charge us a lot, we must try to restart it by doing a Hard Reset , as we have explained previously.
By performing this operation, we probably have corrected any bugs our device had.
Reset iPhone and iPad from time to time:
This option is interesting, since we are going to get free up RAM memory, eliminate zombie processes. When we say every X time, we mean once a month or so. In this way we will be able to solve speed "problems" or some other unimportant error.
The iPhone don't usually crash or crash, but it's good to restart them from time to time.
If we don't want to be aware of when we have to restart or when we don't, we advise you to restart when we go to calibrate the iPhone battery In this way, we will kill two birds with one shot, since when doing the battery calibration process, we will have to drain it until the device turns off, therefore we have already achieved what we wanted, which is the restart.
Well, you know if your iPhone stays on the block and you don't know what to do, or your iPhone turns off just like that , the best is one-Click iPhone reset.
Greetings.
