The fine print of iPadOS 14 (Image taken from Apple.com)
Surely you're looking forward to installing iPadOS 14 on your iPad to enjoy all the new features it brings, right? Well, we don't want to bother you but not all of us are going to be able to make use of everything new that Apple's new software brings.
Whether it's due to device incompatibility, or geographical issues, we won't be able to enjoy everything released yesterday by those on the block. Below we tell you the fine print that accompanies them.
iPadOS 14 incompatibility and compatibility:
To the restrictions and incompatibilities of iOS 14 that can be extrapolated to iPadOS, we add the following:
- The transcribing feature Scribble, which lets you write by hand, with the Apple Pencil, in any text field on iPadOS and automatically converts those words to text, works on devices with an added software keyboard in the following languages: English, Chinese (Simplified), or Chinese (Traditional).
- Smart Selection, the function that allows you to select handwritten text, with Apple Pencil, using the same gestures that we have always used for written text, as well as the function of recognize addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and other data in handwritten text, works on devices with the system language set to English, Chinese (Simplified), or Chinese (Traditional).
- ARKit 4 provides even more precise depth measurements to allow virtual objects to interact with the real world, exactly as you would expect. LiDAR scanner is required for its operation. Available on 12.9-inch iPad Pro (4th generation) and 11-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation).
- Augmented reality experiences, such as life-size art installations or navigational directions to a specific point in the world, require Wi-Fi + Cellular model of iPad Pro 12.9 inches (2nd generation) and later, iPad Pro 11-inch, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, iPad Air (3rd generation) or iPad mini (5th generation). Available in select cities.
- The spatial audio with dynamic head tracking that puts surround sound channels in exactly the right place, even when you turn your head or move your device Works with AirPods Pro .Requires 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd generation) and later, 11-inch iPad Pro , iPad Air (3rd generation) , iPad (6th generation) and later, or iPad mini (5th generation) .
- Like in iOS 14 , privacy information in the App Store will arrive in an update to iPadOS 14 later this year.
- Features are subject to change. Some features, applications, and services may not be available in all regions or all languages.
So you know, not everyone will be able to enjoy all the news. Whether by location or not having a particular device, some of us will want to try many functions.
Greetings.
