Introducing iOS 14
A few days until the curtain opens on the WWDC on June 22, 2020, we are going to name everything we know about it. All the info about iOS 14 that we know today.
Obviously everything we are going to tell you about is based on rumors. Nothing is official, but given their origin and the impact they have had in the specialized media on Apple, it seems that they are not on the wrong track.

What's New on the Home Screen:
iOS 14 will include a new home screen page that allows users to see all their app icons in a list view. The list view will include different sort options to only show apps with unread notifications, recently opened apps, and smart Siri suggestions based on your daily usage.
This particular feature might be similar to the current app list view of Apple Watch, but with advanced sorting options available.
Apple is also working on home screen widgets. Instead of pinned widgets, as in iPadOS 13, new ones will be able to be moved, just like any app icon. However, this feature appears to be in a very early stage of implementation and may be dropped by Apple before public release.
Changes in wallpapers:
iOS 14 will feature a new wallpaper settings panel, which will include the default wallpapers separated by collections, such as "Earth & Moon" and "Flowers" . This will improve the experience as it will not show them all together and the user will be able to scroll through each collection to find a specific wallpaper more easily.
Developers should be able to provide collections of wallpapers and integrate them directly into iOS settings, thanks to a new wallpaper API available to third-party apps.
Users will also have the option to set a smart dynamic wallpaper that will only be used on the home screen. These dynamic wallpapers include a flat color, gradients, and a dark version based on the current wallpaper.
It will be possible to set a custom wallpaper in CarPlay, for the first time.
Improved Accessibility:
With iOS 14, users will be able to receive alerts if the iPhone detects sounds like fire alarms, sirens, doorbells, and more. The system will translate these alerts into haptics for people with hearing loss.
The camera will detect hand gestures to play some specific system-wide tasks, and the code also notes a new "Audio Accommodations" accessibility feature that "may improve audio tuning through AirPods o EarPods for people with mild to moderate hearing loss.” .
Immersive Augmented Reality:
Apple is developing a new app internally, called "Gobi", which will allow users to get more information about what they see around them through augmented reality.
More HomeKit controls:
The system will have "Night Shift to Light" , which will allow the light temperature of compatible lamps to be changed during the day automatically, just like the Night Shift function of the iPhone and iPad .
Apple is also expected to expand its HomeKit Secure Video system, which will be able to identify specific people on the camera, such as family members, so you receive personalized notifications.
Car key:
It has been in development since iOS 13.4, but the feature is expected to be introduced with iOS 14. CarKey allows users to unlock, lock, and start a car using a iPhone or Apple Watch.

Apple Maps improvements:

Clip API:
This new API would allow developers to deliver interactive and dynamic content from within their apps, even if users haven't installed them.
The Clips API is directly related to the QR Code Reader, so users will be able to scan a code attached to an app and then interact with it directly from a card that will appear on the screen.
Built-in translation:
A translator will be added to Safari. This feature should be turned on automatically for web pages in different languages, and the Neural Engine will process the translations locally.
The translation option is also being tested with other apps, such as the App Store. In this case, iOS would translate app descriptions and user reviews if they were written in another language.
More Apple Pencil tools:
iPadOS 14 could include full support for Apple Pencil input on websites, making it compatible not just for scrolling and touch, but also to draw and mark, with all its capabilities, in Safari and other browsers.
News in the "Search" app:
With iOS 14, the Search app is expected to get a big update. Apple plans custom alerts, AR mode and more news.
The app will include a new option to receive an alert when someone does not arrive at a specific location at a scheduled time of day. The new alert options will also include a notification when a contact leaves a location before a set time, which can be useful for monitoring children.
The app will also work with augmented reality, and users will be able to visually locate a lost friend or device using augmented reality for more precise directions from nearby locations.
Operating System Recovery:
Apple is testing a new feature called “OS Recovery” that will allow users to restore an iOS device wirelessly , as well as connecting via USB to another iPhone or iPad, similar to how the Apple Migration Tool works
