New way to add contacts to WhatsApp
The most widely used instant messaging app, WhatsApp just keeps getting better. It is true that, in some aspects, it is behind its competitors. But every time it is adding more functions, to make the app more useful for its users.
And, it seems, from WhatsApp they are working on a new way to add contacts. This new way would be much faster and easier than what we are used to, avoiding the exchange of mobile numbers to add or be added as contacts.

This new way that, although it is not new and is already implemented in other apps, it would be for WhatsApp. And it is, specifically, the possibility of adding contacts by scanning a QR code for each user of the app .
Where you will find yourself in QR code
The QR code of each user could be found in the application Settings, next to the name and photo. And, when pressed, two functions would appear. The first one would show our code QR, accompanied by our photo and username. Just by showing it, the person who wants to add us as a contact could scan it.
The other function is to scan someone else's code. In this way we could add someone as a contact just by focusing on the code QR of the other person, who has to show it from the WhatsApp application itself .

As usual with these functions, it has been found in one of the betas of WhatsApp and, although it is being tested, it is a function that can or which may not reach the users. It's still too early to tell if this will be one of the features that will make it to the final version, but it can be quite useful. What do you think?
