The new DGT app is very useful
A few months ago we let you know that the General Directorate of Traffic was working on an app in which it was possible to carry the driver's license in our iPhone or iPad Well, the app has already been launched and we'll tell you how it works below.
The first thing to do is select the language, among the official and co-official languages of Spain, in which we want to have the app. Next, you have to accept the terms and conditions of use, without which the app will not work.
When the necessary regulation exists, you can only use the miDGT app and leave your physical driver's license at home
Once we carry out these first steps, we will have to identify ourselves in the app. To do this we will have to use electronic means of identification such as DNIe or electronic certificate, Cl@ve Pin of 24h Access or Cl@ve Permanent Pin
The main screen of the app
When we are identified we will see our photo, and the number of points we have available. We will also see the vehicles in our name and, if we have any, their information and driving licenses. If we click on "See my card" we can see it and all the data on it.
Although the functions it has right now may seem sufficient in the future, they plan to add a notice and payment of fines with driver identification and the possibility of carrying out the main procedures of the DGTfrom the application.
The digital driver's license in the app
Of course, the app miDGT represents a real advance. But, although this app is already available, there is still no regulation that would allow us to go out without the physical card and only use the app. Therefore, for now, you can use it but you will have to have the physical card available.
