Twitter for iOS

It seems that on Twitter the fight against trolls is being taken very seriously. This type of people is the one who distorts a great social network, such as the one with the little bird, and it seems that its developers do not want this to happen. That is why they are taking increasingly drastic measures.

Everyone, at some point, has responded to a tweet in a bad way or provided information that is irrelevant, just for the sake of being noticed. These types of replies or malicious comments seem to be liked and are heavily discussed, retweeted, and often become more relevant than the tweet that generated that reply.

Well, it seems that Twitter is going to stop this and allow us to choose who can reply to our tweets and who can't.

How to configure your Twitter account to allow the people you want to reply to your tweets:

Twitter, currently only on iOS, will allow you to choose between four options to limit who can respond to each of our posts:

  • Global: Everyone can reply, as is the case right now.
  • Group: Only people you follow or mention in the tweet can reply.
  • Panel: Only the people you mention in the tweet can reply.
  • Statement: No one can reply to the tweet.

In the following image you can see the four options we are talking about, in the first of the screenshots. In the others or we indicate the information that will appear in your tweet, where it indicates who can answer it.

Set who can reply to your tweets

It seems like a very good measure to us, and you?

We don't know when it will be implemented but it is expected to be soon. Many media take it for granted that we will be able to enjoy this novelty in the coming weeks. We doubt it. But hey, when it arrives we'll tell you so you know that we already have the functionality available.

Greetings.
