App that helps reduce plastic consumption
We are at a very critical moment in history and there are applications, like the one we are going to discuss today, that will help us in this fight against climate change.
Climate change is an increasingly tangible reality. If we don't take it seriously and act against it, all the ecosystems on earth will be affected and, possibly, directly affect life. Droughts, storms, floods will become more frequent and more lethal.
That is why to contribute our grain of sand in this fight, we are going to talk about Closca, an application that will indicate where we can refill our water bottle , totally free.In this way, we will avoid buying bottled water and, with it, the consumption of plastic.
Bottled water produces 1.5 million tons of plastic waste per year and, according to Food & Water Watch, about 180 million liters of oil are required to produce those bottles. With actions as simple as those proposed by this app, you can prevent a good number of plastic bottles from ending up in the oceans and landfills.
Closca, the app that helps us reduce plastic consumption:
First of all, say that we must use a bottle to deposit the water that we will later consume. We have bought one of the BRITA brand, which has a carbon filter and which filters the water, removing the bad taste that drinking water can have, in some parts of the country such as, for example, in our area (Alicante ) . We pass you the purchase link of this bottle in case you are interested in buying it.We are very happy with the acquisition, we save money and avoid using plastics.
Now, once we have the bottle, we can use the application to see where we can fill it completely free. In the following video we explain how it works:
The locations of public fountains where we can get drinking water will appear on the map.
Drinking water sources located with Closca
If you discover any sources that are not located in the app, add them. In this way and little by little, with the help of all the users, we will be able to generate a map full of sources where we can refuel water.
If you do, points will be added that you can later exchange for items. Also by refilling your bottle, you will be able to earn money. This is something that we have not come to test and we do not know if it will really be the case.If someone manages to get hold of any of the items they offer in exchange for points, we would appreciate it if you would comment on it in the comments of this article.
Rewards for using Closca
What we have proven, for now, is that all the locations of public fountains with drinking water are real. We have visited a few and they are in the right place. Some are a little further away from the indicated place, but they are, at most, 20-25 meters.
Closca has come to our iPhone, just like the BRITA bottle, to stay and help us in this way, in this war against plastic . Will you join?.
