Animated Apple Watch Faces
Being able to configure the spheres of our Apple Watch is one of the most outstanding functions of the device. Being able to customize them to our liking is something that can make our watch unique, especially if we apply a sphere with personal photos and/or with some animation.
This is what we are going to explain to you today. You are going to learn how to put any animated background on the sphere of your Apple Watch You are going to have access to thousands and thousands of possible animated spheres that you can install , very easily, on your device. You will even be able to use your Live Photo .
After the jump we explain everything to you.
How to put animated faces on Apple Watch, including Apple Watch Series 5:
In the following video we explain how to create these moving spheres. If you're more into reading, skip it because we'll explain it to you in writing below:
We have to say that animated watch faces work on all Apple Watch, except the Apple Watch Series 5 with the screen always onIf you have a Series 5 and want to display an animated background on your spheres, you must deactivate the active screen
To choose between thousands of possible animated faces for your watch, we will use the app Giphy.
Once we have it downloaded we will do the following:
We access the app and choose the GIF that we want to put as wallpaper on the clock.
Gif to turn it into an animated sphere
- With the GIF on the screen, click on the three dots that appear at the bottom right of the image.
- Then we choose “Convert to Live Photo” .
- Now click on the option “Save as Live Photo (Fit to Screen)” .
Choose “Fit to Screen” to adapt it to the Watch screen
- Will download to iPhone camera roll. We enter the mobile photos and click on the downloaded GIF.
- Now click on "Edit" that appears in the upper right part.
- After this, click on the Live Photo button (several concentric circles) that appear at the bottom of the screen. Just to the right of the “Cancel” button .
- In the selector, we move the white square to almost the end, not quite the end, and click on "Convert to key photo" .
Keyframe to create the animated spheres
- Now click on "Ok" .
- In the following menu, click on the share button (square with an arrow pointing up) that appears in the lower left part of the screen, and choose the option “Create sphere” and, after this, select the option “ Sphere Photos» .
- To finish, click on "Add" .
Now look at the clock.
If you have an Apple Watch Series 5 with Always On Screen, you won't see the animation. To enjoy it, you must disable it.
How to set a Live Photo as background on Apple Watch face:
To put a Live Photo taken by you on the watch, you must have the photos of the iPhone synchronized with the Watch . You can check this in the settings of the Watch app on the iPhone Access “Photos” from that app, and select the “Synchronized Album”. We recommend synchronizing the “Recent” Album .
Synchronize the album you want from the iPhone with the Apple Watch
Once we have this configured, we go to Apple Watch and access the reel. Press the crown of the watch and search and press the little circle of the photos app.
Now you have to search and choose the Live Photo you want. To differentiate them from the others, you will see that the symbol of this photo format appears in the lower right part of the image.
Live Photo on Apple Watch
You can configure the moment that you want to appear in the animation, editing the "key photo" of the Live Photo as we have previously mentioned.
Now you just have to press it hard and click on the “Create watch face” option. Then it gives us the option to choose between “Kaleidoscope” or “Photo” and we will choose the latter.
This way you will have a Live Photo as an animated sphere on your Apple Watch.
Remember that if you have a Series 5, deactivate the always-on screen option to be able to enjoy these animated backgrounds on the clock.
What do you think? Very simple, right? In this way you can further customize the spheres of your Apple watch.
Greetings.
