Take long exposure photos with iPhone

We love the photos of long exposure and the one we show you today, we fell in love with on Instagram . She's to blame for making one of our iOS photography tutorials.

We have contacted the person who posted it on her Instagram account and he has explained how he did it. Very simple to do, to capture it we only need a iPhone and movement.

Before continuing, thank Begoña García,Mbgp77on Instagram, for her kindness in telling us about the process to take such a photograph.

As you can see, it highlights a static background with a moving foreground. The effect is beautiful, or at least it seems so to us.

Bego tells us that to take it she simply activates the "Live Photo" function of theiPhone's camerashe was riding in a car and focused on the clouds while passing near a field of sunflowers. While the background was static and driving at a high speed (100-120 km/h), making use of the options offered by "Live Photo", he was able to give that effect of movement to the lower part of the image, while the upper part was well focused.

If it's not clear to you how he did it, we'll simplify it for you:

  • Get into a vehicle, in which you are a passenger and not a driver.
  • Enables iPhone's Live Photo mode.
  • When you have reached a high speed (without infringing traffic regulations), take a shot focusing on a distant object or scene, with another scene passing by at high speed in the foreground.
  • Then apply the "Long Exposure" effect, as we explain in the following video.

What do you think? We thought that the photo in question was a composition made with a PhotoShop-type photo editor, but we were wrong.

It's proven that with the camera of the iPhone together with the editing options of iOS, we can capture some really good and worthy images being mentioned by Apple in their Instagram section “Shot On iPhone” .

Greetings and we hope you liked this tutorial.
