Instagram is hiding likes in more countries
A few months ago it was reported that, internally, Instagram was testing an interface in which the Likes or Likes and views. In that interface, only the accounts that had uploaded the photo or video could see the specific number.
This, which at first was thought that it might not come out of the internal testing phase, was presented to the world on F8, the Facebook developer conference. The country that was chosen to test it was Canada and it didn't take long for it to appear since its presentation.
Instagram continues with its intention to hide user interactions
And now that it seemed that this test was disappearing in Canada, a country where many users once again had the Likes and views counter, Instagram has announced that they will also test this "function" in 6 other countries.
The countries where this interface or feature is being rolled out are as follows: Ireland, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand. The purpose of these tests in these countries is the same as in Canada: to see the acceptance of hiding the Likes and views.
Gregmar and others like it
The interface that Instagram users will see in these countries from now on will be the same as in Canada. Users who have uploaded the publication will see the likes and, likewise, the visualizations. But the rest of the users will only see if an account they follow has liked it, accompanied by the word others.
The fact of hiding the Likes and views is part of the intention of Instagram for users to pay attention to the content and not in the number of interactions that the content generates. But keep in mind that Instagram is precisely that, a social network of interactions and that hiding them can do more harm than good to the social network. What do you guys think of this?
