WhatsApp against spam and fake news
We know that WhatsApp is a very useful application. It is the most widely used instant messaging app in the world and allows us to stay in touch, not only with our closest friends and family, but also with people who live much further away.
But, like most useful things, they have their dark side. And, in the case of WhatsApp, this dark side manifests itself in spam and fake news. Given this, from WhatsApp they already took measures such as limiting the forwarding of messages or notifying when a message has been forwarded But it seems they don't think it's enough, and starting December 7, 2019, they'll go much further.
WhatsApp will even take legal action against users/companies that abuse the accounts
This was announced through a statement on their website. They assure that it will take the appropriate measures against those users, among which are included the company accounts of WhatsApp Business, who misuse the terms of use of the app .
And they specify several points that they consider to be misuse or violation of the terms of use. Specifically, mention is made of sending automated messages, sending messages in bulk and making non-personal use of the account.

The actions they say they can take range from a ban or deletion of the account and the inability to create another one with that number to legal actions And yes, you have read correctly, legal actions against those accounts that they are aware of that violate the terms of use or that make abusive use of the account.
In addition, they emphasize that, with their measures to send spam and fake news, they have managed to paralyze and eliminate millions of accounts dedicated exclusively to sending spam and misinforming. Therefore, with these actions it can be seen that they want to further strengthen our privacy and security.
