Scam Apps in the App Store
Surely many of you, like us, have fallen for a scam when buying an app that didn't do what it was supposed to do. It is not a greater evil since we have the possibility of returning the money we have paid for them, as we explained in one of our tutorials The It really is not in good taste to fall into these "traps".
All the apps pass a quality filter in the App Store, but it is true that many times they sneak in and are very difficult to detect. Their existence is known when users start complaining about them.
Here are examples of this type of application and how to avoid falling for them.
How to avoid downloading scam apps:
If you venture to buy an application, it is very important that you always read the most recent reviews that it has received.
Both on iPad and iPhone it's easy sorting user reviews in different categories.
Sort apps by different variables
We have to be very attentive to these evaluations because if they are bad, obviously we can get an idea that it is either a very bad app or a scam. If they want to scam us, many users will let us know.
That's why it's important to read recent ratings about it since, many times, the creators of the app send good reviews when launching the app, which can be confusing much to the users.
Scam Apps on the App Store:
Here we show you some examples of applications with which we can be scammed:
As you can see, we have brought up two examples but there are a lot of them hidden in the Apple app store .
Most applications of this style are based on very successful applications, such as Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter or on tools to watch, above all, paid sporting events and of great interest as is the case of Soccer.
If you come across an app of this type, BEWARE!!! Some of them, apart from scamming you out of money, can spy on you and obtain personal data as happened a few months ago with InstaAgent.
As we have mentioned before, read the descriptions carefully before buying (if they are in English use a translator) and especially recent ratings from other users. This will make us detect any app-scam that comes our way.
