Political content ads on Instagram
In the middle of the political campaign before the elections on April 28 in Spain, Instagram has surprised us with something new. Now the ads of politicians on this social network are marked with the text "Paid for".
As we said at the beginning of this article, this feature was only available in the US. Apparently and as expected, it has made the leap to other countries and Spain has been one of them.
We found evidence of this on our Instagram account and we were surprised to see the text we share with you below.

About Political Ad on Instagram
In this way it differs from normal publications and sponsorships from other companies that have nothing to do with politics. This way we will know when an advertisement has been imposed on us that, perhaps, has nothing to do with our political ideologies.
In Instagram we are informed that if we see an ad with political content that does not indicate who has financed it, we can report it . To do this we must do the following:
- Tap on the three dots at the top right of the post.
- Click on Report.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
We all know the importance that social networks are having on political issues. Therefore, it is good to inform users of who pays to appear on the timeline of our profiles.
Greetings.
