Automatic downloads of multimedia content on Telegram

Today we are going to teach you how to configure the auto-download of multimedia content in Telegram. A good way to know which things are going to be downloaded automatically and which are not going to be downloaded without our consent.

Telegram always surprises us with their news. And it is that practically every month we have an update in which they implement interesting new features. This is undoubtedly the key to its success and for which it has more and more users who are making this app great.

On this occasion, we are going to talk about how to create a filter to know what is going to be downloaded and what is not. Obviously, we are talking about automatic downloads, then we can download it manually.

How to configure automatic downloads of multimedia content in Telegram

What we have to do is go to the settings of the app. That gear icon in the bottom right.

Once here, we will see a tab with the name of “Data and Storage” . Once inside, we will see that we have several sections that we can configure. In this case, we are interested in the section «Automatic download of multimedia» .

Select download medium

We see that there are two sections (Using data and Using Wi-Fi). We must select each section, depending on how we are going to download the multimedia content.

Therefore, whatever we press, the menu that will appear will be the same. Obviously, if we want to save on our mobile data rate, in the "Using data" section, the amount of content we download should be less.

So we enter each section and we will see that several sections appear. It even appears to us to deactivate the automatic download, in the event that we do not want it. But at the bottom, there are three sections (Photos, Videos and Files).

Create a filter for data or Wi-Fi usage

Now we just have to enter each section and choose how we want the automatic download. In the case of videos and files, we can create a cap, for example 10mb. This means that if we receive a video larger than 10mb , it will not be downloaded automatically without our consent.

And in this way, we can create filters for downloading multimedia files. And so we can also save mobile data and above all, storage on our device.
