WhatsApp much safer
Since the arrival of version 2.19.20 , Whatsapp implemented the possibility of using Face ID or Touch ID to unlock the app. This is a huge improvement since, before, once you unlocked the iPhone, anyone could access your messages.
We all know that an iPhone can be unlocked with Face ID and Touch ID , but if you don't have permission to unlock it using those methods and you know the access password, you can access the mobile the same way.
Well, if you want WhatsApp to be more secure and private, you need to enable that feature.
Even so, there are people who debate that it is possible to bypass that restriction. They have communicated it to us by mail and we have set to work to verify it. Then we tell you the verdict.
Whatsapp is now much more secure:
The alarm went off when we received an email commenting that if a person activates the unlock by Face ID or Touch ID, in WhatsApp, if you leave the app open and the iPhone screen turns off automatically , when you access the mobile again you enter WhatsApp directly.
When reading this message we got goosebumps. It was a SCREAMING FAILURE of the app that should be corrected quickly. We immediately carried out the action that they told us in the email.
At first we saw that the bug was real, but when we calmed down a bit we saw that it wasn't. We explain why:
- If you leave WhatsApp open and the iPhone screen turns off automatically, you will only be able to access WhatsApp as long as the iPhone recognizes that the person who unlocks the mobile is authorized by Face ID and Touch ID to access WhatsApp.
- If you access the iPhone by entering the password instead of unlocking it with Face ID or Touch ID, this message will appear.
Whatsapp blocked by Face ID
That's why we can be very calm about it.
Even leaving WhatsApp open and after turning off the mobile screen automatically, when you access it again, you will not be able to enter the application if you do not unlock the phone with the same Face ID or Touch ID with which you unlock WhatsApp.
There is only a 1% chance that the lock will be violated by Touch ID and Face ID in WhatsApp:
There is always a but. The app, without a doubt, is much more secure today than before the update in which they implemented the screen lock through Face ID and Touch ID. But there is a way to bypass that lock. In the following link we tell you how to avoid Face ID or Touch ID to enter WhatsApp
Be very careful with what we tell you in that post and do everything we tell you about in it. If you follow our advice, your WhatsApp will be invulnerable.
We hope we have helped you to clear up these kinds of doubts that this new unlock function is generating in the most used messaging app on the planet.
Greetings.
