Homepod review
We have been patient and after receiving the Homepod at the beginning of the year, we have found the right moment to give our opinion. An opinion in which we are going to make clear the good and bad things. Let's be totally transparent.
To begin with, and as an introduction, we have to say that this speaker from Apple is one of the best-sounding speakers we've tested. We come from having a Bosé speaker and the truth is that the Homepod reproduces with higher quality. The surround sound and the quality of the bass is BRUTAL!!!
A device designed to, in addition to acting as a virtual assistant, be a great speaker. Objective that meets with a very good grade.
Homepod review:
In the following video we give our opinion on this magnificent device. In it we talk about how to configure it, what use we give it, the bad things it has if you think about buying it, you can't miss it:
If you don't have time to watch the video, we'll summarize it by points below:
Configure Homepod:
It is very easy to configure. To do this we just have to plug the speaker into the electrical outlet and bring our iPhone closer to it. We must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network for the configuration screen to appear.
On this screen we must follow the steps that it tells us to configure the Homepod. We recommend that you accept all the permissions that appear to us. We didn't activate many of them and then we had to activate them to be able to use the speaker in all its splendor.
Uses for Apple Speaker:
Basically we use it as a music player. We love the sound it makes. But it has a downside. As we explained in the video, to get the most out of Homepod, we should be subscribers to Apple Music, which we are not. That is why when we ask him to put on music, he ignores us.
Being from Spotify, to play our songs, lists, etc. we must activate it from the iPhone. Access the music we want to play and, using AirPlay , make it sound on the Apple smart speaker.

We can also ask you for the time, the time, give orders such as sending messages, calling, creating events, reminders, everything we can do with Siri on our iPhone and other devices .
You won't believe it but we've come to start fluent conversations with Siri.
We love ordering it to bring us the latest news of the day, our favorite podcasts and it even comes in handy as a timer to, for example, make food.
But as we tell you, we mainly use it to play our favorite music.
HomePod Opinion:
Great device that can be made even better if you're a Apple Music subscriber and have HomeKit compatible accessories at home . We say this because the HomePod will be the control unit from which you can turn lights on, turn off lights, change temperatures, raise blinds, turn on stoves .
If you don't meet these two premises, it's a good accessory but something more expendable. If you can afford it, buy it and if not, don't think it's a panacea either. To use it as a speaker there are other much cheaper options on the market.
We, without having Homekit accessories at home and not being subscribers to the streaming music platform of Apple, we are very happy with the. Especially for the sound it makes. On the subject of the virtual assistant, the truth is that we are taking advantage of it, but we see it as something more secondary. We can give the orders that we give to Apple Watch in the same way.
Without further ado, we hope you liked our Homepod review and that it helped you choose whether to buy it or not.
Greetings.
