AirPlay 2 compatible with TVs (Photo: macstories.net)
Great news for all of us who have televisions from one of the major manufacturers of these appliances. Not only Samsung will benefit from being able to have compatibility with AirPlay 2 and iTunes. Other important brands in the sector will also have TVs compatible with these functions of the Apple ecosystem
How we can read on the Airplay website “The major TV manufacturers are integrating AirPlay 2 directly into their TVs, so now you can effortlessly share or mirror almost any thing from your iOS device or Mac directly to your AirPlay 2-enabled smart TV.You can even play music on your TV and sync it with other AirPlay 2-compatible speakers anywhere in your home.”
AirPlay 2 will allow us to use Siri to play content from the iPhone and iPad, on compatible televisions:
With a simple command like "Hey Siri, play Game of Thrones on my living room TV" , we can make that content play on our TV without having to touch the remote control or the iPhone.
This is one of the many possibilities offered by AirPlay 2 compatibility with TVs.
To control the playback on television of any content emitted through AirPlay, it can be controlled from the lock screen of our iPhone or iPad .
Playback control from iPhone
The player that currently appears when playing music will also appear when playing content via AirPlay 2 on televisions. The iPhone will become a remote with which to control what we are seeing. We can "fiddle" the volume, the playback bar, go forward, rewind from the device screen.
AirPlay 2 , HomeKit and Siri is what we will need to give an order to iPhone. Siri will be able to send content from our iOS device to a TV with AirPlay 2 in a specific place in the house.
Now it's time to know how long we will have to wait to enjoy this bombshell.
