Restricted USB Mode
Today we are going to talk about the restricted USB mode of iOS . A new function that we have present in iOS 11.4.1 onwards, and that comes to combat, above all, the theft of these devices.
Surely we've all heard of that section that the police use to unlock iPhones. Even people who are dedicated to stealing them and later unlocking them with this type of device. That is why Apple has decided to take action on the matter and release a function that avoids all this.
We are going to explain how to activate this function and how it really works. Many users are unaware of both the function and its operation, obviously.
Restricted USB mode arrives on iOS
To activate this function, we must go to the device settings. Once here, we look for the Face ID tab, in the case of the iPhone X and Touch ID in the case of other devices. If we have an iPhone without Touch ID, we will see "Code" .
Once here, we scroll through this menu, until we find a tab with the name of “USB Accessories” .
Activate this function
When this feature is disabled, as Apple instructs us, the iPhone cannot be used with USB unless we unlock it . This means that no accessory will work without our consent.Of course, as a requirement they tell us that at least an hour must have passed for it to be blocked.
Therefore, having disabled this function, we will know that even if our iPhone is stolen, no one will be able to delete it without our consent. Since it will always ask for our unlock code to use any accessory via USB .
Don't think that you have to activate the option. If we do, look at the text that appears under the option.
Do not activate if you want to protect your iPhone
So if you found this information useful, don't forget to share it on your favorite social networks. This function above all, can help a lot of people.
