Countdown iOS
How many times are we preparing something or making food and we need to keep track of time? We always say "well, in 10 minutes this is ready" and when we want to realize it, those 10 minutes have become 15 or, in the worst case, you realize it when you smell burning. Today we bring you one of our tutorials for iPhone, which will surely come in handy.
Many users may not be aware that their iOS devices have a timer and even a countdown. This function, in these cases, is very useful for keeping time under good control. But one drawback, it may be that when we are preparing something, our hands are dirty and this does our iPhone a disservice.
And this is where SIRI comes into play. He will do all the work for us. We just have to tell it what we want and it will take care of the rest.
How to activate a countdown without unlocking the iPhone:
Depending on the iPhone model you have, you may be able to activate SIRI from the lock screen in a different way.
- iPhone X: Press and hold the power button or, if you have "hear SIRI" activated, say that command.
- iPhone with HOME button: Holding down the HOME button.
In both cases we must have activated the ability to use SIRI on the lock screen.
Once we have SIRI on the screen, we just have to say what we want it to do. In this case, it is that you notify us at a certain time. We, to do the tutorial, we are going to tell you to let us know in 2 minutes, but we can tell you any time interval.
Therefore, we say the following "Notify me in 2 minutes", "5 minute countdown", or however we want to say it.

Automatically our countdown will start and we can be doing other things. When the time is up, it will notify us with a "sweet" melody.
This countdown can even be seen on the lock screen of our device. In this way we can get an idea of what is more or less left until time runs out.

How to stop or repeat the countdown:
Once the time is up, a message will appear on the screen telling us that time has run out. We will have to click on "Stop" or, if you wish, on "Repeat" in case we want to repeat the countdown.

And in this way, we can activate the countdown without having to unlock our iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch (as long as they have Siri). Ideal if we have to do a task that depends on a certain amount of time, as is the case with cooking, which as we all know, everything has its time.
