Whatsapp notifications on lock screen
Now that the issue of privacy is so "fashionable" and given the Whatsapp bug in one of its versions, we will tell you how to configure the notifications of this app in the lock screen.
In APPerlas we have made you many Whatsapp tutorials, including how to hide your conversations on the lock screen Today we are going to go one step further and we are going to tell you the different ways to combine this type of notices. Although it may not seem like it, there are different ways to display that notification.
Some of them, I'm sure, will suit your taste.
Ways to set WhatsApp notifications on lock screen:
Here we show you a video in which we explain each of the ways, but if you are more into reading tutorials than watching them, below we explain everything step by step:
1- Showing preview:
Show all in notifications
This is the default. With it, what is done is to show, on the lock screen, the message and the sender of the message. You can read it directly, without unlocking the mobile.
For this we must have the preview activated in the settings of Whatsapp (Settings/Notifications) and in iOS (Settings/Notifications/ Whatsapp) the “Always” option in the “Show previews” menu .
Many people don't like this option because it makes the message accessible to everyone who passes by or is attentive to the screen of your iPhone.
2- Showing only the sender's name and not the message:
Displays only the sender's name
We will show the name of the contact that sent us the message, but hide the text of the message.
This is the setting I personally use. Nosy people who look at my iPhone screen will only be able to see the name of the contact and will be left wanting to know more.
For this we must have activated the preview in the settings of Whatsapp (Settings/Notifications) and in iOS(Settings/Notifications/Whatsapp), in the previews option we have to select "Never" or "If it is blocked".
The difference between the "Never" and "If blocked" option is the following, it is especially important on iPhone X "Never" will prevent you from always seeing the message preview , although the lock screen is unlocked by recognizing our face. The option “If it is blocked”, will not show the message if the iPhone is blocked but it will show it as soon as Face ID recognizes our face.
In the others iPhone, those that do not have Face ID, the difference is that if you activate NEVER, it will not show the preview even if you are using the mobile and the strips appear. These notices will not display the message. The option IF IT IS BLOCKED will not show the message on the lock screen but will show it on the strips, while we use the mobile (as long as you have them activated).
3- Showing only the notification prompt:
Shows notification only
Simply by deactivating the preview option in WhatsApp (Settings/Notifications), it will never show anything about the message or sender. And this will do whatever the configuration we have set in iOS (Settings/Notifications/Whatsapp).
The only difference between the settings from Whatsapp and from iOS is that if we have disabled the preview in Whatsapp but not on iOS, the message will appear, on the lock screen notification, with the name "MESSAGE". If we deactivate from the settings of iOS,the notice will appear as “NOTIFICATION”. Come on, it can be done in both ways or from the app itself or from the system itself.
If the way we explained does not work, click on the following link to prevent the sender's name and message text from appearing in the WhatsApp notification.
4- Do not receive Whatsapp notification on the lock screen:
Don't show anything
If you don't want to receive any WhatsApp notification on lock screen, you need to do the following. Access the Settings app on your mobile and from Notifications/Whatsapp, deactivate "Allow notifications". In this way you will not receive any notice.
But if what you want is not to receive notification of WhatsApp on the lock screen, but if the new message sounds, see the red circle on the app warning that You have messages to read, you must deactivate, in Settings/Notifications/Whatsapp in the "Notices" section, the option "View on the locked screen" .
What did you think of the tutorial? We hope you liked it and learned how to configure Whatsapp notifications on the lock screen. If so, shared with all your contacts, on your social networks. We would really appreciate it.
Greetings.
