Reading is not like before. Before we could only read our books on paper, in physical format, but now we have more accessibility thanks to eBooks and devices like the iPad.

Today's app, Goodreads, is aimed at those who love to read, since, in addition to being able to organize the books they have read, they will be able to discover new ones.

As we always say there are applications for everything.

The Goodreads app has a useful option called Scan:

Goodreads could be considered a community of readers. In it, those who have read a certain book can rate it and, thus, the rest of the readers can know the opinion of those who have read that book.

Different categories that the app allows you to mark as favorites

In order to use the Goodreads application, we will have to be registered or register. Once registered, we will have to mark the categories of books that we like. We will also have to rate a total of 20 books, using stars. Thus, the application will be able to suggest new books based on our interests and the score we have given to the books.

The main screen or Home, is the one in which we will see the books that are popular in the categories that we have marked. We can also search for books by title, author or ISBN This search can also be done from Search, filtering by different genres.

The Home section of Goodreads

The most interesting sections are My Books and Scan. In My Books we will find all those books that we have marked as pending reading and, in addition, there will be the books that we have marked as read. The latter will be filtered by literary genres. If we want, we can create new "shelves" to, for example, keep a list of borrowed books.

Scan, for its part, allows us to scan the covers of the books, to more easily add them to read or pending reading. All the scanned books will be in Scanned Books, which can be useful for us to save the books we want buy.

If you are passionate about reading we recommend you download it, although we warn you that, for the moment, it is only available in English.
