In recent months Apple has had different security problems, which have been remedied with updates.
Just when we thought that Apple had everything under control, a new bug appeared, this time it's a bug in Siri that allows anyone to read your notifications.
A new bug in Siri puts your privacy at risk in notifications
It seems that the new iOS bug has to do with the personal assistant, Siri.
As MacMagazine has revealed, anyone could read your notifications without having the unlock code or the Face ID, through Siri.
Those users who are lovers of their privacy were very happy when with iOS 11 they were able to hide the notifications that were displayed on the lock screen.
If you don't hide them, anyone who wakes your screen, without unlocking it, could read the notifications that have arrived. Well, they would be displayed on the lock screen.
On the iPhone X, this functionality was enabled by default. To change this option you must enter settings in the notifications section and decide when you want them to be displayed.
Siri tells everything
What at first seemed controlled, seems to be not so much.
A bug has been discovered in Siri, in which if you activate the assistant and ask it to read notifications to you, it will read them all to us.
Without checking who is requesting it. And even if you have them hidden and are not shown on the lock screen.
It is worth mentioning that there are some notifications that are saved from being public. Siri will not read notifications from Messages, unless the iPhone is unlocked.
By saying Messages we refer to the native App of iOS. Well, Siri will read messages from Telegram or WhatsApp or any third-party application. without problems
This bug in Siri is worrisome, as it compromises the privacy of all your notifications. But, let's stay calm, Apple is already informed, and let's hope they are quick to fix said bug.
