Little by little Apple Maps has been increasing its services: traffic information, public transport, so that the user experience is as complete as possible.
Little by little the application is including better ones to be able to compete with Google Maps.
Apple Maps incorporates public bicycles into its application
Those from Cupertino don't want to be left behind, and they do their best to make us use their native map application.
Apple has signed an agreement with Ito World and they have incorporated the public bicycle services of some 175 different cities in 36 different countries into their maps.
The service is already active, you just have to confirm that your city is on the list.
In which cities is it available?
At the moment there are no cities in Latin America, although we hope that little by little they will be included.
In Spain, Maps incorporates the public bicycles of:
- Bicing Barcelona
- SEVici in Seville
- Valenbisi in Valencia
- Bizi Zaragoza in Zaragoza
We hope that soon they will be adding cities around the world that offer the public bicycle service.
How do I find the bike service?
Nothing special to do.
To be able to see the service in Maps you just have to put the name of the service in your city in the search engine.
Or put “shared bikes” in the search engine, which also appear.
Directly, all stations near your location will appear on Apple Maps
Now, it does not inform us if there are bicycles available at the stations or not.
Also, if you open the Apple Maps app and look around, it will also show you these bike stations, as well as the subways and buses.
Sólo will show us the best route to get to the bike station we have chosen. What it does include is the telephone number, as well as the website of the bicycle company.
Do you dare to go by bike?
