If on Mac we simultaneously press cmd-ctrl-space, we access the character catalog where we find the Unicode characters. In iPhone this doesn't exist and we only have the classic keyboard and the emoji keyboard, but thanks to the app UniChar, now we can search for Unicode characters and copy them to use them in our iPhone apps.
WITH UNICHAR WE CAN SEARCH FOR UNICODE CHARACTERS IN IPHONE TO USE THEM IN OTHER APPS
As soon as we open the app we will see a series of characters. We will be able to explore all the characters if we scroll down, and we will be able to see in the category in which we are thanks to the navigation bar on the right side.
The list of characters that we find when opening the app
If we press the icon with three lines in the upper left part, we will access a list that will make it easier for us to search for characters, but to find them the easiest way is to use the search bar at the top.
If we do not find the character in this way, we can use the manual search, which allows us to draw the character so that the applook for it. Once located, all we have to do is press it to “write” it, and copy it to be able to use it in other apps.
The search for drawing
In addition, UniChar has its own keyboard extension. In other words, if we access Settings>General>Keyboards, we can add it as a favorite keyboard to choose it when we are writing in an app and not have to exit it to search for a character.
The application is free. It includes some integrated purchases, to unlock some categories such as "enclosed" characters, arrows or different geometric shapes, among others. Despite this, the free version includes many of them and it is more than likely that it is more than enough. We encourage you to try the app and tell us what you think.
