In the Keynote to present the new iPhone, Apple said that the new design of the iPhone X would be the roadmap for the coming years. It is likely that they were referring to its "all screen" front, since they now require developers that new apps published in the App Store be adapted and optimized for the Super Retina display of the iPhone X.
THAT ALL THE NEW APPS ARE ADAPTED TO THE IPHONE X IS A LOGICAL MOVEMENT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE ENTIRE DEVICE SCREEN
Many of the existing applications in the App Store are not yet compatible with this screen. Most of the optimized apps are well known and used apps. Many others maintain their version for 4.7″ screens.
When using one of these apps on the iPhone X, we see how black frames occupy the top and bottom of the screen, since they are only optimized for devices with 4.7-inch screens. This is something Apple doesn't seem to like.
