It seems that the next version of iOS will bring with it an alert so that emergency services can locate someone in distress. The iPhone will send the user's location to the emergency services when they make the call. This feature will be called Advanced Mobile Location (AML).
What is Advanced Mobile Location ?
Apple has always implemented advances aimed at helping in an emergency. Proof of this is the call “SOS Emergencies” when trying to turn off the iPhone.
Or access to medical data with the mobile phone locked and with a Pin. Thus being able to access treatments or diseases that we have put in the He alth App.
Not forgetting the emergency contacts.
Advanced Mobile Location is a new feature that will come with the iOS version 11.3 .
This is that when calling the emergency service, the iPhone will be able to send the location of the user who is in trouble.
In emergency situations, quick action is vital. And it seems that this feature will help to save time in acting.
How does AML work?
Emergency call
It seems that if a user calls through “ SOS Emergencies ” it will activate the AML, Advanced Mobile Location .
This feature enables Wi-Fi and GPS services.
Afterward, send a text message with the precise location of the user or iPhone.
The most revolutionary thing is that it will be sent without the user having to do anything.
We must mention the high accuracy of the location.
Can we enjoy this news now?
Well it's true that Apple is taking too long to make this news available to everyone. Well, on Android you can enjoy this feature from the Gingerbread version.
But better late than never!
In some countries it already works, like:
- United Kingdom
- Belgium
- New Zealand
- Lithuania
- Netherlands.
In the rest of the countries it is in beta phase. It's time to wait.
But when it arrives, we'll only have to update the iPhone compatible versions to iOS 11.3 .
Do you think we can use this new feature in all countries?
