A few days ago the news appeared that Apple was withdrawing from the App Store one of the applications . Specifically, a Terminal call.
The reason was that app could create confusion for users, as it looked too much like the native Terminal app of MacOS.
What is the Terminal application about
This open source app allows you to execute various commands on iOS as if you were in the appMacOS Terminal, native.
Obviously, with the limitations of being in an environment iOS.
It is free, and considering that it has been removed from the App Store, it has quite a few positive ratings.
Teminal for iOS works well with iPhone and iPad, although maybe more easy to use with the tablet due to its larger screen size.
Withdrawal due to breach of regulations
All application developers must comply with a series of regulations in order to upload to the App Store their application.
One of them, is that it should not look like any app native to iOS , WatchOSor MacOS.
And this was the main reason why when releasing an update, developer Louis D'Hauwe received an email fromAppletelling him they were removing the app from he.
You may think that Apple is too leery of their developer policy. But thanks to this, we have a quality application store free of malware.
The Terminal app is back in the App Store
Indeed, the developer has renamed the application, calling it now OpenTerm.
It has also changed its logo, to avoid such confusion.
Terminal is now called OpenTerm
And right now, the application Terminal is once again available on the App Store. Well, remember to search for it under the new name.
You can download it for free and start "playing" with it, running some commands as if you were in the MacOS app.
