Jailbreak has as many defenders as detractors. This "cracking" of iOS devices allowed the installation of applications that were not in the App Store, as well as pirated apps and different "tweaks" that modified or added features to iOS, but this may have its days numbered.

If a few days ago the news broke that they had managed to install Cydia (the "application" necessary to download tweaks and apps on iOS) on an iPhone X, today we know that two of the three largest Cydia repositories they closed.
If you don't know what the repositories are, these are, so to speak, the packages that had to be added to Cydia and that contained the apps and tweaks to install them on iOS devices.
