Yesterday afternoon we named Twitter a supposed bug that we discovered in iOS 11 and that happened to a lot more people, too .
The supposed bug of iOS 11 was that when you disconnect WIFI and BLUETOOTH, from the control center, at first it seemed that it was disconnected, but when you revisit the new control center appeared, again, activated.
We tested everything possible before going public. We rebooted the iPhone, we tried airplane mode, we disabled location themes. But none of this worked. Seeing that it was also happening to various members of the APPerlas team,we raised the alarm.
THE FAILURE OF IOS 11 THAT IS NOT SUCH A FAILURE:
Alleged bug in iOS 11
Mucha gente RT and marked the tweet in question as a favorite, certifying that it happened to them as well. But it was @Jose_HVilla who told us that Apple explains how the options WIFI and BLUETOOTH work in control center.
Then we translate it for you:
In iOS 11 and later, turning on the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth buttons in Control Center will immediately disconnect your device from Wi-Fi and Bluetooth accessories. Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will still be available, so you can use these important features:
- Airdrop
- AirPlay
- Apple Pencil
- Apple Watch
- Continuity features, such as Handoff and Instant Hotspot
- Instant Hotspot
- Location Services
This means that by deactivating Wifi or Bluetooth from the control center, we will disconnect from all Wifi or Bluetooth access to which we are connected. But even by doing this, both services will be available for use on other Apple devices and features.
Example: I want to disable Wi-Fi, because I'm not there, there's no network nearby, but that's not why I'm going to stop using it to make location services more effective and, for example, to send photos by Airdrop between devices .
If what we want is to disable Wi-Fi completely, we must go to SETTINGS/WI-FI and disable it from there.
The same thing happens with Bluetooth. To disconnect it completely we must do it from Settings.
By doing so, the indicators of both functions, in the control center, will appear crossed out.
Wifi and Bluetooth completely disabled
THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THIS FAKE IOS 11 BUG:
By turning off Wi-fi and Bluetooth from the control center, both services will be turned back on when:
- Turn Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on again from Control Center.
- When connected to a Wi-Fi network, or Bluetooth accessory, in Settings> Wi-Fi or Settings> Bluetooth
- Walk or drive to a new location (Wifi only)
- It is 5:00 local time.
- Reboot the device.
Do you like how you want us to manage Apple, both services from the control center?
