Next September 19th, we will all be able to download the new and expected iOS 11 on compatible devices (we show you the list below). This, as we have commented in various articles on this website, brings with it the so-called appocalipsis.
32-bit apps will "die" but what will they be? We already explained how you can know which apps installed on your devices will stop working.
Faced with this debacle, many developers are warning that their applications will stop providing service.
Our article about the classic games adapted to iPhone has been when we have realized it. Many of them, even without announcing their developers, will stop working. All those that have not been updated for years will surely stop being available on the App Store and will stop working with iOS 11
APPLICATIONS ANNOUNCING ITS IMMINENT DISAPPEARANCE:
Surely there are many more, but we are going to show you 2 examples of the announcement made by its developers.
Bubble Bobble Double and Arkanoid, two games from the company TAITO, comment the following in the description of their applications (we put example Bubble Bobble Double) :
App disappearance announcement
Translated, it says the following:
“BUBBLE BOBBLE DOUBLE” End of Service Notice (September 30)
Thank you for playing "BUBBLE BOBBLE DOUBLE".
As of September 30, 2017, the service for "BUBBLE BOBBLE DOUBLE" will end. With the end of the service, the title and its related items will no longer be available for purchase.
After September 30, 2017, the app will no longer be available on the App Store for download. Also, if you already have the app installed, please note that updating to iOS 11 will not allow you to run the game on your device.
Again, we sincerely thank you for your previous use of "BUBBLE BOBBLE DOUBLE".
This means that after September 30 the app will not be downloadable. It will be removed from the App Store, but if you have it installed and are using iOS 10, you can continue playing whenever you want.
The problem will be if we install iOS 11. That's when the game won't work.
This is why if you are a lover of a 32-bit game, if you have downloaded it and don't want to stop playing, don't update to iOS 11.
Here we leave you with the devices compatible with iOS 11:
