The new Apple Watch Series 3 occupied a large part of yesterday's Keynote This new Watch comes in two options, with mobile connectivity and without her. One of them, the one that does not have mobile connectivity, can be reserved from September 15 in Spain, but there is no date for the other yet.
The launch of this model has led to the disappearance of the S2. The one that does not have mobile connectivity, which is the only thing that it does not share with the other, has replaced it. Something similar to what happened, for example, with the iPad mini 3, among others.
Countries that will receive the Watch Series 3 LTE first
Although, as has already been said, the one that does not have LTE can be reserved from September 15, the LTE model does not have an arrival date in Spain. In fact, it is only scheduled to be launched in 9 countries: the US, Canada, Australia, China, Japan, the UK, Germany, France and Switzerland.
IT IS VERY PROBABLE THAT THE WATCH SERIES 3 WILL NOT YET ARRIVE IN SPAIN DUE TO NO AGREEMENT WITH THE TELEPHONE COMPANIES
Spain and no Latin American country is in the first wave of releases and we have a slight idea of why. This can be mostly due to the phone companies.
As you already know, the Series 3 has mobile connectivity thanks to its eSim. Thanks to this, it will be possible to do without the iPhone, for example, when we go to the gym since we will keep our number and we will be able to answer calls, receive messages and use some messaging apps.
Twits by journalist @ampressman about the price of doubling the number of the iPhone in the new Apple Watch S3
This is where the telephone companies come in, since the maintenance of the number in the eSim depends on them. The countries in which it will be released initially are those where Apple has reached an agreement with some of the telephone companies.
In fact, just yesterday a journalist stated on Twitter that Verizon and AT&T would charge $10 a month for the Watch to share a number with our iPhone. In Spain, Vodafone offers the multisim service for €4 more per month and Movistar for €6 per month. For its part, Orange offers this service for free with some rates.
Let's hope that Apple doesn't take long to reach an agreement with the operators of the rest of the countries, but we believe that, at least, we won't see the Apple Watch Series 3 in Spain until 2018.
