Who has not had a breakdown or breakage in their iPhone? Surely it has happened to all of us at some time. Rare is the person who has not messed with something on the iPhone,or water has entered, or the screen has broken .

Finally, the document we all expected to see has been leaked. The website Bussisnes Insider has had access to it and has shown it to us in one of its interesting articles. This is in English, so we explain what is discussed in it.

This is a document called "The Visual/Mechanical Inspection Guide", which contains the technical details taken into account by the Apple Store and authorized service providers, to determine if an iPhone is eligible for warranty, when they may be eligible for out-of-warranty service, and when they are not eligible.

WHAT IS COVERED BY APPLE UNDER THE IPHONE WARRANTY:

The document is as follows:

Leaked Document

In it we can see 3 parts. One in green, one in yellow and one in red.

  • GREEN: Tells us what Apple will repair under warranty. Objects inside the screen, pixel anomalies, fuzzy and/or shaky recording, a scratch on the display are some of the "faults" accepted by Apple to fix the device under warranty, even if liquid has entered the iPhone or it is of an accident.
  • YELLOW: Yes, it will carry out the repair but without any guarantee involved. Liquid damage to the device, corrosion, screen cracks, camera damage caused by lasers, connections/speakers/microphone damage, abrasions or punctures, or bent/broken parts are some of the cases that fall under the non-warranty fix.
  • RED: Cases where Apple will not fix the device. If the iPhone has non-original parts, non-Apple batteries or damage caused intentionally, those of the bitten apple will not perform any type of repair or provide any service.

Still, we make it clear that this document is not the last word on whether a repair is covered. This decision will be made by the Apple technician.

So this leak can simply be used as a guide. A way to quickly filter out breakdowns that can be covered by the iPhone warranty, which we remember, is 2 years.
