In macOS there are many apps that are unknown to many but are very useful. One such app is Image Capture. It is possible that many of you do not know it, but thanks to it you will be able to transfer the photos from your iPhone or camera to your Mac without having to download programs.

The Image Capture app can be found both in the Launchpad and in the Finder. In the Launchpad you will find it in the Other folder that is created in MacOS. In Finder you can find it in the Applications folder.

Once located and open you will have to connect your iPhone or camera to the Mac and it will appear on the left side where it lists devices. If you have more than one device connected, you will have to choose the device from which you want to transfer the photos.

When selecting the device, Image Capture will show us all the content of said device. All the images and videos will appear, as well as GIFs, and we will be able to see information about them, such as the date or their size.

Before transferring photos from iPhone to Mac, it is recommended to choose the destination folder. By default the destination folder will be Images, but at the bottom we can select the folder we want. Once the destination folder is selected we have two import options: Import and Import all.

If we use the Import option, only the selected items will be imported into the destination folder. On the other hand, if we use Import all, Image Capture will import all the elements of the device. We can also choose to have Image Capture delete device photos when finished importing them.

Image Capture has been on Mac for a long time and as you can see, you don't need to download any software or use iTunes to easily transfer photos from iPhone to Mac .
