We all know that social networks are a breeding ground for trolls. Many people use it to get information, meet people, give their points of view, share experiences, photos. Many others use them to do damage. It will be out of envy, to attract attention, due to complexes we don't know. The reality is that, every day, offensive comments are more frequent.
That is why Instagram,among other platforms, will take action on the matter and through AI (artificial intelligence) will combat this type of harmful comments.
It's a real shame to go to these extremes but there are people who are having a really bad time, because of these so-called t rolls.
INSTAGRAM TAKE ACTION AGAINST OFFENSIVE COMMENTS AND SPAM:
DeepText,the same AI used in Facebook to combat these types of comments, will be in charge of acting on them.
Kevin Systrom, co-founder and CEO ofInstagram,posted on his blog “Many of you have told us that toxic comments discourage you from enjoying Instagram and to express yourself freely. "To help, we've developed a filter that blocks certain offensive comments on posts and videos." "Our team has been preparing our systems for a while to recognize certain types of offensive comments and spam so that the user doesn't have to see them."
This filter will be launched progressively.First it will only be available in English and little by little new languages will be added. Kevin commented that DeepText is designed to work in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. But the adaptation to all languages will be progressive.
This new filter can be found in the Instagram settings, in the comments section. The option has the name of HIDE INAPPROPRIATE COMMENTS.
The end of offensive comments on Instagram?
It is activated by default but we can deactivate it if we want.
Without further ado, we hope it will soon be available in Spanish and allow us to automatically filter out those offensive comments and annoying Spam.
