Star Walk for iOS
We have tried many astronomy applications where constellations, stars, planets, etc. are shown and this is one of the ones that we liked and convinced the most.
Star Walk reveals everything we can see with our eyes when we look at the sky. With a very well-made and intuitive interface, we can know anything we observe about the vast universe that surrounds us.
Once the APP geolocates us, the delight begins. That of raising the IPHONE to the sky and moving it in the direction in which you are looking and through it being able to know the name of each star, constellation, planet and even satellite leaves us speechless. But it is not only knowing the name of any element in outer space, but it also gives us information about each one of them and if you are not satisfied with the description received, it refers you to Wikipedia so that you do not lack any information. It's really AWESOME.
We install the application and when we enter we receive this screen:
The firmament
In it we can see a representation of heaven. We can move, sliding our finger on the screen or moving the iPhone,in the direction we're looking. We can use it as a telescope and focus it on the part of the sky that we want. We can also zoom in on the screen by making the pinch gesture on the screen.
HOW TO USE THE STAR WALK APP:
In the corners of the screen we see four buttons, with which we can:
- SHARE (located in the upper left part): We can share the screenshot that we are viewing at that moment. We can do it in different social networks, by email, save the snapshot in our reel
- TIEMPO (located in the upper right part): This button appears when we use the app manually, which means that we can see the sky by moving our fingers across the screen . If we click on it, today's date will appear. We can modify this by clicking on the year, the day, the hour, the minutes and rotating the vertical line that appears under the clock. In this way we can see how the sky evolves over time and we can even see how the firmament was on a specific date and at a certain time. When we use the app in augmented reality mode, two other icons will appear, instead of the time icon, with which we can superimpose the images that the application shows us with the ones that we are really seeing, in order to know more specifically what each one is. celestial body that is represented to us.We show you these two buttons in the following image:
Constellations in Star Walk
- BUSCADOR (located in the lower left part): It gives us the possibility of finding any element that comes to mind, in order to show it to us. A little arrow will appear directing us to the place where our search is located.

Returning to the main screen of the app:
Going back to the main screen, we see on the left side a vertical line which, if we slide up or down, will give us the possibility to change the way we view the universe in the application. We can see it in X-RAY, GAMMA RAY, INFRARED mode
We can press any celestial element that we fancy, by clicking on it. When doing so we will see that we are selected, his name appears and to the left of it we see an "i".If we press that "i" a graphical representation of what we have selected will appear. We will be able to rotate it, moving our finger over it and we will also be able to know much more about it.
In the upper left part, depending on the information available about the object, more or less buttons will appear with which we can (explained from top to bottom) :
