Obviously, one of the apps that we all use the most is Whatsapp. It is also the one that consumes the most data since we do not stop receiving videos and photos. It is also the cause of taking up a lot of space on our iPhones. That is why we have to do, from time to time, a cleaning of chats to be able to lower that high cost of storage.

To see what's taking up Whatsapp, on your device, go to SETTINGS/GENERAL/STORAGE & iCLOUD/MANAGE STORAGE (in the Storage section) .

It doesn't occupy us much because it's been barely 2 days since we cleaned the chats, but it took up almost 2Gb.

There you can see what each app occupies on your phone.

Well, after adding interesting new features such as the new photo editing interface and the video calls, soon we'll be able to enjoy something new that will allow us to save some space on the mobile.

HOW WILL WHATSAPP STREAMING WORK?

In the image above we see that the person who received the video has not downloaded it to her terminal. We can know it because it puts the megabytes that it weighs in the lower left part and in the center the possibility of viewing it without downloading it appears.

Today, even having everything configured to not download any video, it only gives us the possibility to download and not play, as you can see in the following image.

This new feature is going to come in handy for all of us who hate waiting to download videos to watch them.

These videos will be downloaded while we are watching them. Therefore, they will continue to be saved in the mobile's memory.

Streaming of Whatsapp, at the moment, it is being tested on Android devices but it will also come to iOS soon.

We are looking forward to it.

Greetings.

UPDATED: The feature has arrived on June 28, 2017, in version 2.17.31 of the app.
