Squid – Your News Buddy is a fantastic news reader, very similar to Flipboard, with which we can be informed of the news ordered by categories according to our tastes and hobbies.
When you start using the app, it will ask you to choose the categories that interest you from among more than a dozen. We don't have to worry about marking all of them since we can later add new interests by pressing the "+" icon in the upper right, although we will have to mark a minimum so that the app can create our Feed.
Once the app has created our Feed, we will see different news items ordered by categories. In the first place, represented by the icon of a house, the most recent news of all the interests that we had marked will appear.
BOTH THE DESIGN AND THE SQUID FEATURES MAKE IT A VERY ATTRACTIVE APP
Secondly we will find "Featured news", where the most relevant news of all the topics we have chosen will be, and after "Featured news" we will see all the topics or interests chosen heading the list of news related to them .
Along with the option to add articles and news to our personalized reading list, probably the best feature it includes is the ability to read the articles and news in "Reader View".
This option has existed for a long time in Safari for iOS on some websites, but the app applies it to all articles, removing all ads and external links and showing us only the article or news item and the images that accompany it. To activate this function, we just have to press the Book icon at the top of each article.
