Maps.me, the best offline map app in the entire App Store, from our humble point of view, is updated and now brings us functions and news that many of us had It has been a request for a long time and the feedback between developers and users seems to be quite good.
There is no better map app to take you on trips abroad or to save data on your mobile rate, wherever you want to use it. This is how we do it, having it as the main map app and allowing us to save a lot of mobile data since we have it configured so that it only downloads data when it is connected to a Wi-Fi network. When we are under 4G/3G, having the map downloaded on the device does not consume any type of our mobile rate.
But let's get down to business and talk about what's new in this new update of Maps.me
NEW MAPS.ME 6.0.1:
Here we will comment on the 3 main functions that the developers of this app have added at the request of users:
Many users asked for it and in the end they have implemented it, they have divided the map into parts. We will now be able to download individual regions instead of the entire country. This, for example, has made us go from having the map of Spain downloaded in its entirety (573mb) to only having downloaded the area that interests us right now, which is the Valencia Community (48m).
Now we can edit the map by adding new places or modifying existing places, directly from the application. To do this, they warn us that any change we make is of quality, since it will be visible to the rest of the community.
The search function has been improved so that we can find any place we want. This function, the truth, left a little to be desired but after this new version it seems that it has improved remarkably.
What do you think of the improvements? We thought they were great, especially the idea of dividing the maps into regions. This way we have 500mb more available in our "tight" iPhone 6 16Gb.
We hope you found the news interesting and share it wherever you want.
